CORONAVIRUS 19 - Looking at the potential changes on 3rd September by Scouting (Amber indoors), and assuming Guiding follows similarly shortly after. We are still looking at starting sessions next summer at the earliest, assuming advise and guidance permit. Even if permitted any session run now would be at a financial loss to the club, further increasing the clubs losses this year. Under our constitution we are self funding. When we able to, we will notify both scouts and guides countys when we will be opening bookings for taster sessions again.
Our evening taster sessions are a chance for scout and guide groups to try out canoeing, kayaking and new for this year SUPS.
The sessions run for two hours, usually 7-9pm. At the beginning and end of the season sessions will start and finish earlier, subject to sunset times (April and September), due to available light..
Each session will include: -

Canoeing is a generic term to cover a number of types of boats used in paddle sports. It can be confusing as open cockpit and closed cockpit for instance appear in both a kayak and a canoe. For the purposes of identifying craft for session booking the following description is a guide:
1. KAYAKING you sit in and use a double bladed paddle.
2. CANOEING you knee in and use a single bladed paddle.
